Do your research, ask around at networking events, ask the other sisters in your circles with businesses similar to yours these five questions:

4) Is it beginner user friendly

5) The cost

#2 Set aside time for your financial activities

It doesn't matter what system you have, if you don't adhere to it properly. Pick a day of the week to be you finance day. Let it be the one day you sit down and organize business expenses and revenue, enter data into your accounting software and review your results.

#3 Consult with a professional

If you find you are managing things easily, maybe you just started out and there are no complications or volume of transactions to handle, keep handling it.

But if you find yourself confused, got questions, unsure - find a trusted professional and build a relationship that can grow with your business. When you are starting out, utilize free resources (local SCORE office, personal online research, local business workshops) but be sure to grow your network and have a go to professional when your business increases in volume and complication.
